Our homes

A real home. Professional care always.

For placing authorities

What you should expect from us.

Local authorities need homes that can hold complexity without losing warmth. Our homes are built around the Quality Standards for children's homes — a stable staff team, a clear model of care, education that does not slip and safeguarding that is visible in everyday practice.

Discuss a placement

Small by design

We do not operate large institutional settings. Scale is kept small so that relationships can do the therapeutic work. Matching considers the child already living in the home.

Trauma-informed

Family-style living with space to regulate, play, study and be private. Trauma-informed interiors, outdoor space and key working as a foundation.

Education first

Education that does not slip. Digital learning tools and educational robotics as part of ordinary life — not as an add-on.

Clear referral route

Planned, crisis/emergency and therapeutic referrals considered. Placement duration is determined by the child's individual needs — not a predetermined timescale.

Safeguarding visible

Safeguarding is embedded in everyday practice, not just in policy. Our Registered Manager and Responsible Individual provide clear governance and oversight.

Professional partnership

We work alongside placing authorities, social workers, schools and specialist professionals. Open, transparent communication at every stage.

Our care model

Child-centred. Trauma-informed. Relationship-based.

The Almond Tree is guided by a care philosophy that puts the child first — seeking to understand what has happened to a child, not simply reacting to behaviour. Attachment-aware, restorative and strengths-based practice runs through everything we do.

Growing with care

More homes will follow.

We are building a family of homes with the same thoughtful standards, each with a distinct sense of place. The structure of this website is designed to grow alongside Mechex — new homes will be added here as they become available.
